The 13th meeting of the Steering Committee of the NATO C2COE took place on Tuesday 10th and 11th of September 2019 in Lexmond, The Netherlands.

The meeting brought together representatives from all of the NATO C2COE-associated nations: The Netherlands, Germany, Estonia Slovakia, Spain, Turkey and the United States. Mr. Robert Gregg (USA) acted as observer, as he is NATO C2COEs point of contact to ACT. The Steering Committee plays a significant role in planning the Centre’s activity, particularly in terms of identifying strategic development perspectives, funding current and future activities as well as approving fundamental documentation required for the Centre’s further existence.

The most important decisions taken during the  Steering Committee Meeting included approving the 2020 Programme of Work, which constitutes the plan of all activities to be undertaken by the NATO C2COE next year, as well as approving the budget for the Fiscal Year.

Besides the Programme of Work Topic, the Financial budget from lasts years and the planning for 2020 were introduced and got approval by the board.

This year the steering board met for the first time on a different location outside the Kromhoutbarracks where the offices of the NATO C2COE are located. All of the Steering Board members agreed on that change of tradition. On top, the chairman introduced the idea of conducting the upcoming steering board meetings throughout the participating nations, which was highly welcomed by the board.

This Steering Board meeting means the start of a new, challenging year of the NATO C2COE. The next Steering Committee meeting will be held in september 2020.
