On Friday, October 18, 2024, a delegation from the Japan Self-Defense Forces (JSDF) visited the NATO Command and Control Centre of Excellence (NATO C2COE). This visit marked the centre’s ongoing efforts to foster cooperation with partners outside the traditional NATO realm, either as sponsoring or contributing nations.
The delegation, consisting of the Japanese Military Attaché to the Netherlands and a high-ranking JSDF officer, visited the NATO C2COE to exchange experiences and learn about the centre’s roles, responsibilities, and relevance. The meeting stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation between the JSDF and the NATO C2COE in the area of command and control.
The meeting also served as an opportunity to hand over a physical copy of the first edition of the Annals of C2, a peer-reviewed military journal designed to publish scholarly papers on command and control in military operations and related (civilian) disciplines. More information: c2coe.org/annals
