“On December 6, the NATO C2COE had the pleasure of welcoming Lt Gen Thomas J Sharpy to the Kromhout Barracks in Utrecht, the Netherlands. As the Deputy Chief of Staff for Capability Development, Allied Command Transformation, he spoke on C2 development and on its relevance to both NATO and the NATO C2COE. The Centre also took the opportunity to present its ongoing projects and studies.

After an Office Call with the Director, Colonel Robert Meeuwsen (NLD A), Lt Gen Sharpy was presented with the main projects of the NATO C2COE, which primarily focused on an elaboration of the Multi-Domain Operations C2 Demonstrator (MDO C2 Demonstrator) project, which was Introduced by Major Marcel Scherrenburg. Lt Col Herbert de Groot (NLD AF) presented a new study concerning the definition of Multi-Domain Operations. The Hague Centre of Strategic Studies (HCSS) demonstrated their Risk Monitor. Lt Col Frank Gubbels (NLD N MC) ended the sessions with a view on Command and Control within NATO Doctrine.

As a result of these discussions, Lt Gen Sharpe agreed to take part in the Centre’s upcoming annual seminar in June 2020 as a key-note speaker.”
