The Annual C2 Conference 2024 has concluded! Bringing together participants from over 20 countries to discuss the C2 Implications in NATO MDO Synchronisation in the continuum of competition, expand (in)formal networks, and share good times with like-minded individuals, we— also on behalf of our co-organizers, the Canadian Joint Warfare Centre—can confidently call this year’s conference an outstanding success.
Orchestration and synchronization with civil entities — key themes of the conference—came up repeatedly throughout the event. These ideas were central to presentations, panel discussions, and fireside chats, as well as informal conversations during breaks and evening events. Participants shared real-world experiences, exchanged practical ideas, and debated solutions to common challenges, all with a focus on making NATO Command and Control more effective.
Synchronizing military activities orchestrated across all five domains, through collaboration with various non-military stakeholders—such as government, industry, society, and academia—creates tailored options that deliver desired converging effects in virtual, cognitive, and physical dimensions. International law and financing, global trade, research and education, and social influencing (media) are all well-proven means of generating these effects. Combined, directed, and supported by a convincing military posture, these converging effects should be sufficient to deter any adversary from entering a crisis or conflict in any domain. Additionally, synchronized actions should include clear options to return to co-existence or even progress toward cooperation.
We sincerely thank all participants, speakers, and sponsors for their invaluable contributions in making this event not only possible but also a success, and we look forward to seeing you next year!
In the upcoming days we will publish our insights and takeaways from the conference via this channel and our website: c2coe.org
