On May 7, 2025, the NATO C2COE and the University of Defence in the Czech Republic, formalized their partnership by signing a Letter of Cooperation. The agreement, signed by COL Mietta Groeneveld, Director of NATO C2COE, and COL Assoc. Prof. Ing. Jan Farlík, Ph.D., Rector-Commander of the University of Defence, establishes a framework for collaboration in the fields of expertise exchange and overall cooperation. The partnership will strengthen both institutions’ command and control expertise by facilitating the exchange of experts, scientist, and researchers. Activities will include joint lectures, seminars, workshops, internships, and research projects, as well as the sharing of knowledge and database access.

While the Letter of Cooperation does not create legal or financial obligations, it sets the stage for further agreements to define specific projects, funding arrangements, and intellectual property rights. The initial term of the agreement is five years, after which both parties will review and potentially extend their collaboration.
