On the day the Dutch stock market AEX reached the 1,000-point index milestone, the NATO Command and Control Centre of Excellence joined the “Pioneering Europe’s Defence Tech Future” event in Amsterdam. This afternoon event (15 January, 2026) was organised by French Tech Amsterdam and Euronext.
The event brought together leaders, investors, industry representatives, and institutions that are shaping the future of defence and security, and connected them with the next generation of dual-use innovators.
The Director of the NATO C2COE, Colonel Mietta Groeneveld, joined the panel discussion “Innovation & Technology in European Defence: Exploring Operational Innovation and Emerging Technologies,” stressing the need for rapid innovation across the Alliance.
The panel was moderated by Sarah Jane Mellor (CyAN, Forum InCyber Europe) and also included Julie Huguet (Director of the Mission, La French Tech), Jean-Luc Maria (CEO, Exotrail), Nassima AUVRAY (SVP Defence & Security Division, Orange), and Henry Gates (VP Security & Defence, Fortaegis Technologies).
