Towards Improved Pathways for Human–Machine Teaming in Command and Control at the Operational Level

Human–Machine Teaming is vital for effective Command and Control in complex, multi-domain operations. This article presents key insights from a NATO C2COE workshop, building on prior research, to examine how HMT can be embedded as a socio-technical capability within Cross-Domain Command. The findings emphasize cultural adaptation, system literacy, trust, and training as essential enablers of “true teaming” between humans and machines.
