Aletta Eikelboom, Consultant at the Expertise Group for Military Operations at TNO (Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research) elaborates in her article 'NetForce Command: Approach to C2 suitable for MDO' on Netforce Commands as alternative for the hierarchical approach of command and control. 'NetForce Command is not to replace a hierarchical approach of command and control, but intents to broaden the range of command and control approaches that the armed forces can apply'.
