Report on the NATO C2COE’s Research of the implementation of Command and Control utilizing Federated Mission Networking and Mission Partner Environment.
During the annual C2COE steering board meeting, the US steering board representative expressed interest in having the C2 COE observe the Bold Quest (BQ) 2015 exercise in preparation for the C2 COE’s participation in BQ 2016. It also served as an opportunity for the Centre to experience and better understand the US contribution to FMN, Mission Partner Environment (MPE) episodic. With approval of the Steering Board, I decided to provide an observer for BQ 2015. The intent was to gain increased knowledge of the FMN and MPE relationship, as well as, an understanding of how FMN and MPE concepts were being integrated into NATO and partner nation operations. It also provided us an opportunity to make first hand preparations for our support to BQ 2016 in accordance with the Centre’s 2016 POW.
This short report provides a summary of the most important points that were observed during NATO C2COE presence in BQ 2015 as well as a recommendation for our participation in the BQ exercise for 2016.
