Exploring C2: NATO Degrees of Authority (in development)

This course is in development because experience from both NATO-led operations and NATO exercises suggests that clarity on the authority of commanders expressed in these terms is sometimes lacking. That situation is undesirable and endangers the execution of operations. Therefore, this course aims to provide NATO staff officers with the basic understanding of terminology and usage of degrees of authority within NATO. The course also might benefit military students in the beginning of their career, as they also in junior positions will most likely be confronted with acronyms expressing formal relationships in multinational formations.
