From 26 to 27 June 2025, the directors of all NATO-accredited Centres of Excellence gathered in Prague for the annual COE Directors Conference. The event was hosted by the Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defense (JPEO-CBRND), in close coordination with NATO Allied Command Transformation (ACT). The NATO C2COE was represented by Colonel Mietta Groeneveld.
During the meeting, the directors discussed NATO priorities, the ongoing COE policy review, support for Ukraine, and ways to accelerate defense innovation. The meeting made it again clear that the Centres of Excellence are essential toNATO’s ability to adapt, innovate, and respond effectively to emerging security challenges.
Each year, this conference brings together the Centres of Excellence to make sure they’re moving in the same direction. Attendees included representatives from 29 of the 30 NATO-accredited Centres of excellence.
