A delegation from the NATO C2COE attended this year’s MDO Conference (20–23 May, held in Ankara, Türkiye), and took the stage to discuss the opportunities and challenges of conducting Multi-Domain Operations. Across the NATO Command Structure, we are developing the expertise, processes, and technologies needed to operate, fight, and win across all domains and in any environment. The discussions focused on building a shared understanding of MDO across the Alliance, reinforcing cross-domain command mindsets and culture, and coordinating capability development across all operational domains.
The Multi-Domain Operations Conference in Ankara, Türkiye addressed how NATO can become Multi-Domain Operation-enabled by 2030.
The path forward lies in the operationalisation of Cyberspace and Space, along with enhanced coordination across operational domains and collaboration with non-military entities. A digitally transformed Alliance will support connectivity and interoperability. NATO Allied Command Transformation (ACT) continues to play a key role in shaping the political and strategic understanding necessary to implement Multi-Domain Operations within the Alliance.
