Situation. Recently the NATO C2COE had a considerable influx of personnel. As we are all aware the topic C2 that our knowledge centre deals with, is very broad but sources that catch basic ideas in our own languages are scarce. Thereby the NATO C2COE fosters a climate of sharing available knowledge, curiosity and “education permanente”. Based on previous experiences it takes new members quite some time to get acquainted. A structured approach for knowledge transfer therefore is highly desired.
Aim. In order to provide new Centre members with basic knowledge on our NATO C2COE business processes and ongoing C2 related projects, there will be a newcomers briefing week from Monday 6 till 10 September.
Set-up. Every day there is a time-slot for a briefing. In general: each section will present its main efforts during half an hour. The topics and timings are mentioned in Annex A. Additional background-material can be found in Annex B.
Coordination. The location is the main briefing room. All new members have to be during the mentioned briefing slots this week. Links to most of the pre-reads as mentioned in Annex B can be accessed through the following link (password ). All presenters to be ready 5 minutes before start of programme (screen and projector up,; presentation accessed)
Command and control. In case of specific issues please contact the OPR for this activity, LCOL Frank Gubbels.
The Command and Control Centre of Excellence (NATO C2COE) was established in 2007 on the initiative of the Netherlands to create a group of Command and Control (C2) Subject Matter Experts supporting the transformation activities of Supreme Allied Commander Transformation (SACT) and of the Sponsoring Nations of the NATO C2COE (Belgium, Germany, The Netherlands, Norway, Slovakia, Spain, Turkey and the USA; Estonia joined as latest member in 2013). We support NATO, nations and international institutions/ organisations with subject matter expertise on Command & Control.
