The C2 seminar ” C2 On the Move”

C2COE Seminar On The Move On Tuesday, 24 March 2015, Captain (N) G.H. Nijenhuis, Director of the NATO C2COE, opened the C2 seminar, “C2 On the Move,” at the Navy Barracks Willemsoord in Den Helder, The Netherlands.

The seminar was attended by 85 participants representing 15 NATO nations and organisations. Various views and issues related to the topic of the seminar: “C2 On the Move,” were presented. In particular the Deployed JTF concept was explained and discussed.

At the first day, Admiral Bekkering, Deputy Commander of the Royal Netherlands Navy opened the seminar, followed by professor Julian Lindley-French, who delivered the Keynote Speech. Subject Matter Experts from NATO, NATO nations, NCS and NFS as well as representatives from JFCBS, and JFCNP briefed the audience on challenges related to C2 in a developing environment and varying structure requirements. Additionally the Combined Joint Task Force concept was looked at and discussed from different points of view.
Finally the importance of cooperation and situational awareness in a rapidly changing and moving C2 environment was stressed.

The seminar facilitated networking and social interaction.

On Thursday, 26 March, the seminar closed.
