Operational Assessment Branch

The Operational Assessment Branch of the NATO C2 Centre of Excellence is responsible for Operational Assessments of Command and Control aspects during operations and training, exercise and experimentation activities of NATO and/or nations.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Maintain links with the BI-SC training, exercise and experimentation community at the strategic/operational level.
  • Participate in relevant training, exercises and experimentation board meetings and ensuring the participation in planning conferences of NATO training, exercise and experimentation.
  • Participate in operations, training, exercise and experimentation in accordance with the Program of Work.
  • Co-ordination with the NATO JALLC.
  • Liaison with relevant NATO expert centers and staff.
  • Participation in post exercise/experiment discussions (PXD) when required.
  • Participate as observers during operations and training, exercise and experimentations of NATO and/or nations.
  • Coordinate with the Analysis and Concept and Expertise Management branches.
  • Ensure the assessment output meets timeliness and quality standards in close coordination with the Analysis and Concept branch.
  • Ensure the input of data into the NATO C2COE’s Lessons Learned Database as gained in training, exercises and experimentation in close coordination with the Analysis and Concept and Expertise Management branches.
