Directorate

Overview

The NATO C2COE consists, besides the Director and Deputy Director, of 4 branches: a Support Staff/Control/Security Branch, an Operational Assessment Branch, an Analysis & Concepts Branch and an  Expertise Management Branch.  The Kingdom of the Netherlands as Host Nation always provides the Director in the rank of Colonel or Captain (Navy). According to the current MOU the Federal Republic of Germany provides the Deputy Director in the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel or Commander (Navy).

Role of the Director C2COE

  • The NATO C2COE Director is responsible for directing and organising all the NATO C2COE activities. His specific responsibilities include:
  • Representing the NATO C2COE at conferences, seminars and meetings and at other events.
  • Establishing and developing the working relationships with ACT, its subordinate commands and with ACO.
  • Maintaining appropriate links with other NATO entities.
  • Coordinating the C2 Program of Work (PoW) with HQ SACT and within C2COE branches prior to its final endorsement by the NATO C2COE Steering Board and to exclude its possible conflicting.
  • Assessing necessary MOU/TA changes to the Sponsoring Nations and HQ SACT, as required.
  • Arranging and coordinating preparation and conduct of Conferences, Seminars and international meetings organised on behalf of the NATO C2COE.
  • Promoting external working liaison with other agencies, organisations and COEs in support of the mission and wider framework of NATO.

Role of the Deputy Director C2CoE:

  • The C2 CoE Deputy Director is the second authority in command of the NATO C2COE
  • Executing the function as Chief-of Staff of the NATO C2COE
  • Participating in the decision making process within the NATO C2COE.
  • Contributing to the Director NATO C2COEin the effective fulfillment the NATO C2COEmission and tasks.
  • Assists the Director NATO C2COE in directing and organizing the NATO C2COE and represents the Director NATO C2COE when authorized.
  • Representing the Director NATO C2COE at conferences, seminars and meetings and at other events, and assists the Director NATO C2COE in representing NATO C2COE at international meetings.
  • Establishing and developing the working relationships with ACT, its subordinate commands and ACO, and maintaining appropriate links with other NATO entities.
  • Coordinating the draft NATO C2COE Program of Work (PoW) with HQ SACT and within NATO C2COE branches prior to its final endorsement to exclude possible conflicting.
  • Assessing and recommending necessary MOU/TA changes through the Director NATO C2COE to the Sponsoring Nations and HQ SACT, as required.
  • Arranging and coordinating the preparation and conduct of conferences, seminars and internationals meetings organized on behalf of the NATO C2COE.
  • Promoting external working liaison with other agencies, organizations and COEs in support of the mission and wider framework of NATO.
  • Monitoring the progress of the active Program of Work and initiating corrective actions if and when necessary.
